Color wheel: a diagram that shows the relationship between colors, as well as their light and dark values.
Primary Colors: colors that cannot be mixed (red, blue, and yellow) Secondary Colors: two primary colors are mixed (orange, green, and purple) Tertiary Colors: a primary and a secondary color are mixed (red + orange = red-orange) Complimentary Colors: colors that are opposite of each other on the color wheel and create the most contrast (red/green, blue/orange, and yellow/purple) |
