The first level of drawing and painting has always been my favorite class to teach because I love working with so many different kinds of students. Some of you will come into class with a burning passion to pursue art for a living. Some of you will take the class because you want to get Fine Arts credits but not necessarily get excited about art. And some of you don't have a strong opinion about art, but may feel nervous about how good your skills are to pass the class.
Whatever your feelings are about art, I welcome it into the class. If you are nervous about passing the class or want to improve your skills, use the resources on this website to help you develop your skills. Determining what is good or bad art is subjective. I'm not going to grade you solely on how your art looks, but also what kinds of risks you take during your art-making process and how courageous you feel to do your best. You'll do fine! And I'll be here to support you.
